Hopeless (Hopeless #1) by Colleen Hoover - Gah the way this one just came together was so depressing (beautifully written)
Dare You To (Pushing the Limits #2) by Katie McGarry - Drug abuse, physical abuse, homosexuality... Absolutely love the way McGarry writes
Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta - Racism was just one of the many tough/depressing themes of this amazing read
Easy by Tammara Webber - A really, really amazing take on rape, its consequences, and what happens if it's not reported
If I Stay (If I Stay #1) by Gayle Forman - Absolutely heart-wrenching, to live or to die when you have practically nothing left?
Saving June by Hannah Harrington - Halfway through this one but it deals with the aftermath of suicide
You could almost pick any ten YA books at random and find ten great books that deal with tough subjects!

Great list here! Some I need to add to my TBR pile. Definitely agree with Easy and Hopeless, they made it to my list too.
ReplyDeleteEasy made my list too! And, I've been waiting for the right moment to read Hopeless. I've heard it's so emotional!

The ones I've read are on my list as well, and almost all the others are on my TBR already!

Happy reading.
I love reading Coleen Hoover's books. There always emotionally compelling. How did you feel about flawed? It seems like a good book. +1 in my TBR pile now ^.^
ReplyDeleteI started If I Stay today! Good so far. So many people picked The Fault in our Stars. I can't believe I left that off my list.
