15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 8


The 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge was started by April @ Good Books and Good Wine on a whim as she wanted to do a blogging challenge related to books and was in a bit of a slump.

Day 8: Quick! Write 15 bullet points of things that appeal to you on blogs!
  1. No infinite scroll
  2. Easy to read font - serif or sans serif, not that fancy/curly shit that hurts my eyes
  3. Correct use of grammar
  4. Nice colour scheme - around 4 or so colours
  5. Pretty blog banner/header
  6. Not too much clutter on the sidebars
  7. A background image that doesn't clash with the blog/take my eyes away from the post. Something subtle
  8. Minimal use of fonts - heading font, main text font and maybe one other for the blog banner if it's different
  9. Easy commenting scheme - don't make me sign up for all those weird sites that make me sign in to comment. Google or Wordpress please
  10. Links in easy to find places - if I want to follow you on Twitter I want to find it on your sidebar or in your Contact/About Me section
  11. No excessive large images, if it takes forever to load it annoys me
  12. Slider/sliding banner <3 jQuery
  13. Use of whitespace - don't have everything clumped together
  14. Content block centre aligned
  15. Simple is best

    I agree with everything you said there Jaz! I went on this blog with extremely colourful, killed my eyes. Ugh.

    I love slidy banners as well, I dunno, but they are fun to watch, O.O

      Oh gawd when they're colourful and don't follow a colour scheme it just makes it SO distracting and I can't read the posts ><

      Yes the slidy banners are so fun to watch :3 I love the smooth transitions hehe

    Totally agree with all your points here Jaz bb.

    If the commenting scheme ain't easy to get through, then I ain't commenting. AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FO' DAT.

    If the sidebar is crazy, if I can barely read your post, if your background is plain distracting, I'm not going to last long on the blog either. Pah.

    Ahahahhaha we truly are the grammar police. I would probably start flipping tables if a blogger consistently mixed up you're/your, they're/their/there etc etc.

    THIS IS WHY YOUR BLOG IS PERF. <3 And your header is so gorgeous. Gah. *pets*

    I agree with all of your points Jaz, a simple blog is usually one of my favourite blogs. I especially don't like ones which take ages to load and ones which have captcha! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! :)

      Ugh yes CAPTCHA is so annoying but I can understand why some people have it on for spam prevention.
